In the PressSEE WHAT THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS HAVE SAID ABOUT US. "LANCE PASSES BY MILES"
Stuart Lister, deputy registrar at the Driving Standards Agency, confirmed that only a handful of instructors in the country have consistently gained the top grade, and described the achievement as quite unique. "DRIVEN TO PERFECTION"
They get chauffeured around all day by pupil after pupil, who they coach in the dos and don'ts of modern motoring. Then when it's time for the really tricky part " the driving test " they take a back seat or duck out altogether, leaving the poor novice driver to face the music and the uncompromising examiner. Well, it's not quite like that in reality. Driving instructors are subjected to a rigorous testing process, conducted by the Driving Standards Agency. In these examinations, failure to come up to scratch can result in an instructor's qualification being revoked. Being a driving instructor is a lot more taxing than most people think and one man who will certainly testify to that effect is Lance Baggaley of Lance School of Motoring. A qualified driving instructor for the last 20 years, Lance has been through the DSA's tests on more than one occasion. Basically a DSA examiner will sit in with the instructor while he or she is giving a lesson and give him or her a grade between one and six based on performance (with six being the best). It's only a few instructors nationwide who achieve the top grade from the DSA but Lance has achieved that level in every one of his DSA tests. What's more in his most recent examination he was awarded an almost unprecedented 100 per cent. This really is an amazing achievement when you consider that only a handful of instructors have ever managed perfect score on the DSA's stringest test criteria and it's testament to Lance's dedication to his job that he was able to achieve it. He can now rightfully claim to be amongst the top one per cent of driving instructors in the country. Lance first qualified as a driving instructor at the age of 23, making him the youngest person to join the profession in the Southport area. Soon after that he started Lance School of Motoring and that business has flourished to the point where, there are seven cars on the road with both male and female instructors teaching people from across the area how to drive. Lance School of Motoring offer a great range of services from standard lessons to intensive courses. Student discounts are available, there's comprehensive training for the theory test and, once you've successfully passed, there's the Pass Plus scheme to provide useful extra tuition. The company are also licensed to train driving instructors themselves which gives you some idea of Lance and his team's expertise. In the run up to Christmas, Lance School of Motoring are offering a special gift pack to anyone who wants to give lessons as a Christmas present for someone. The pack comes with vouchers for the number of lessons you want to give along with a free pen, a key-ring, CD-Rom and start-up video.
